We’re excited to share a meaningful neighborhood improvement catalyst: Hill at Sims, a new 100-acre regional park led by Houston Parks Board and Harris County partners, is located about a ~12-minute drive from our site.
Hill at Sims is located at 11808 Scott St., Houston, TX 77047. This is not just a “park concept”—it is a real, funded project with public updates and a defined scope.
Why This Matters for Our Community
Large public parks and greenway networks can materially improve a surrounding area by:
improving overall neighborhood livability and public realm quality
attracting more family activity and community programming
strengthening long-term perception and desirability of nearby residential neighborhoods
Over time, these effects often support higher land values and stronger housing demand (while, of course, market outcomes are never guaranteed).
What Hill at Sims Includes (Publicly Listed Features)
According to Houston Parks Board’s project page and the project press release, the park includes:
pedestrian trails and amenities built on a stormwater detention basin site
a 1.6-mile basin loop trail and additional nature trails
a 1.5-mile Scott Street Greenway trail segment
connection to the broader Sims Bayou Greenway trail system (planned to stretch nearly 20 miles when complete)
Local media has also highlighted this effort as a significant green-space and trails initiative in Sunnyside.
